The desire to design a stool had been maturing in my mind for a long time. It was at the very end of the year that this personal project finally came to life, driven by a need to confront digital drawing with reality. The process began with a rigorous
3D modeling phase to lock down the lines, proportions, and joinery. Once the virtual blueprints were validated, I moved to the workshop to handcraft each individual piece, giving the wood its final shape. This duality between digital precision and physical craft laid the exact foundation for this project.
Once the physical stool was assembled, the next step felt completely organic. Having the initial 3D models already on hand, I chose to extend the experience by creating a full animation around the piece. This short film captures the poetry of its
handcrafted making: using raking light and textured macro shots, the animation deconstructs the assembly system and elevates every detail of the wood. It stands as a visual tribute to handmade design, where motion design becomes the showcase for a tangible object.
